Sibling Love
I heard the twins counting out loud together with their "Numbers" book yesterday, so I tried to catch the cuteness on video. Well... you can see how that went below. :-)
P.S. We had our first experience using a public potty last week. If you were ever a Seinfeld fan, my experience could have easily been incorporated into an episode. The twins also went to their first non-family birthday party, so I have a post coming, but I just need to find the time!

When Mama's Away...
the Daddy will break open the "saved" toys.
I went shopping today to buy the twins their "Spring/Summer Wardrobe". While I was gone this afternoon, Phil popped open some of the new toys that that we had put away for the kids to enjoy. Between Christmas and their birthday, they get so many toys that it is fun to put some away to "open" on a day when they need a little extra entertainment. Sydney Frances recieved her brand new Snow White dress-up set...complete with a tiara and some wobbly high heels. We had been talking about getting this out for her for a little while because we didn't want her to outgrow the costume. When Rush saw that she was getting to open something new, the "she got this for Christmas, so it isn't really a new present" excuse DID NOT work, so he also got to open his Percy train and tracks which we had been saving for him. He spent the rest of the evening by the track playing with new train, so it was a good move on Phil's part. He loved the train. Loved it. There are plans for a giant track with several engines and cars attached. Rush has the Thomas and Percy engines that were given as gifts, and our neighbor gave us all of their boys' trains and tracks, as well. The trains are battery powered, so he can hook them together, attach some cargo and send them on their way. He can also throw down the track brake and derail them all in a blink. Super fun!

My Big Girl
Just wanted to share some news with those of you I don't talk to regularly...
See this little cutie pie?

She is enjoying a lollipop..one of the many treats she has received this week because...

She learned how to use the POTTY!!!! Woo hoo!!!
And this handsome fellow?

Still not interested... but stay tuned because he will get there! He is willing to share his popcorn with you, though, because he is so sweet. Just as long as he doesn't have to share it with Tee-ta. He would say, "Tee-ta twy to take it. Her not ask me. Her take it. Her take da popcorn. I feed you popcorn, OK, Mama? But not Tee-ta."
{But, even though they won't share their popcorn with each other, they give each other hugs and kisses every night before they go to sleep. It helps me know they really do love each other. So sweet.}

Day 1: A Success
I must admit that I have been feeling a little apprehensive about our Spring Break because I was a little afraid it might give me a preview of my summer that I wasn't really wanting to see. You see, the twins have been a little hard to handle lately. They have been fussing/arguing/tattling with/on each other pretty much non-stop. That makes for a long day when you are home with them on your own. I had already made up my mind that the plan would be to keep them as busy as possible to avoid that down time that can send them both over the edge. When they have too much "unplanned" time, they begin to shout things like:
{Remember Tee-ta is Rush's name for SF}
"Wush touch me!!!"
"Tee-ta take my car!!!"
"Wush tell me no!!!!"
"Tee-ta push me!!!"
"She take my woom." (This means she is sitting on his portion of the chair and half.)
"Dats mine!! I have it first!!!!"
So, to keep me from having to hear these things, we had a plan. It was to stay outside for as much of the morning and afternoon as possible. It worked mostly. We played outside until lunch time, and then we had a picnic outside for lunch. Then we attempted to nap. Then, we played outside some more. The afternoon time included digging up dandelions from the neighbors yard and filling the seat of the Cozy Coupe with them. Who cares, right? They had fun, and that's what bath tubs are for because they were FILTHY!! Like had to get out the nail brush filthy. But there was very little fighting, so my faith was restored that we can, indeed, enjoy our summer break together.

Are you loving the "two pony-tails" as much as I do? I just have to work on that center part in the back. Someone tell me how to do that.

Rainy Day
Today was a rainy day. If you have two year old twins, that sentence has a special meaning for you. Even if you don't have twins... just any children at all, that sentence probably has some meaning for you. It rained pretty hard for most of the afternoon. Rainy days and toddlers are not always the best combo. We like to head outside for some swing set time on the weekends. Or maybe a spin or two in the Cozy Coupe...These outside activities help us all maintain our sanity. So, after several fights, time-outs, and screaming fits, I decided to split them up. I put Syd on a bar stool in the kitchen with me so she could "help" me make a pound cake. Rush really wanted to watch "Da Whitening Queen Show"{aka.. the Disney movie.. Cars}, so I set that up so he could be entertained {and left alone} for a little while.
*Excuse the lack of pants... there is someone trying to learn to use a potty around here.*

**Please note that Rush is fully clothed. That would be because his response to "Would you like to sit on the potty like a big boy?" is "No thank you." At least he is learning to say no politely, though, right?

Cutie Patooties
My Aunt Julia got some cute new outfits for the kids, so this post is for her. SF LOVED her dress!! It looks precious on her! Her favorite part is the belt. Rush was also looking quite handsome wearing his new shirt! And a photo of the twins wouldn't be complete without "White Queen" {aka Lightning McQueen}. He is one of the family after all. And he is "faster than fast."
