My Big Girl

Just wanted to share some news with those of you I don't talk to regularly...

See this little cutie pie?

She is enjoying a lollipop..one of the many treats she has received this week because...

She learned how to use the POTTY!!!! Woo hoo!!!

And this handsome fellow?

Still not interested... but stay tuned because he will get there! He is willing to share his popcorn with you, though, because he is so sweet. Just as long as he doesn't have to share it with Tee-ta. He would say, "Tee-ta twy to take it. Her not ask me. Her take it. Her take da popcorn. I feed you popcorn, OK, Mama? But not Tee-ta."

{But, even though they won't share their popcorn with each other, they give each other hugs and kisses every night before they go to sleep. It helps me know they really do love each other. So sweet.}

Day 1: A Success

I must admit that I have been feeling a little apprehensive about our Spring Break because I was a little afraid it might give me a preview of my summer that I wasn't really wanting to see. You see, the twins have been a little hard to handle lately. They have been fussing/arguing/tattling with/on each other pretty much non-stop. That makes for a long day when you are home with them on your own. I had already made up my mind that the plan would be to keep them as busy as possible to avoid that down time that can send them both over the edge. When they have too much "unplanned" time, they begin to shout things like:
{Remember Tee-ta is Rush's name for SF}
"Wush touch me!!!"
"Tee-ta take my car!!!"
"Wush tell me no!!!!"
"Tee-ta push me!!!"
"She take my woom." (This means she is sitting on his portion of the chair and half.)
"Dats mine!! I have it first!!!!"

So, to keep me from having to hear these things, we had a plan. It was to stay outside for as much of the morning and afternoon as possible. It worked mostly. We played outside until lunch time, and then we had a picnic outside for lunch. Then we attempted to nap. Then, we played outside some more. The afternoon time included digging up dandelions from the neighbors yard and filling the seat of the Cozy Coupe with them. Who cares, right? They had fun, and that's what bath tubs are for because they were FILTHY!! Like had to get out the nail brush filthy. But there was very little fighting, so my faith was restored that we can, indeed, enjoy our summer break together.

Are you loving the "two pony-tails" as much as I do? I just have to work on that center part in the back. Someone tell me how to do that.

Rainy Day

Today was a rainy day. If you have two year old twins, that sentence has a special meaning for you. Even if you don't have twins... just any children at all, that sentence probably has some meaning for you. It rained pretty hard for most of the afternoon. Rainy days and toddlers are not always the best combo. We like to head outside for some swing set time on the weekends. Or maybe a spin or two in the Cozy Coupe...These outside activities help us all maintain our sanity. So, after several fights, time-outs, and screaming fits, I decided to split them up. I put Syd on a bar stool in the kitchen with me so she could "help" me make a pound cake. Rush really wanted to watch "Da Whitening Queen Show"{aka.. the Disney movie.. Cars}, so I set that up so he could be entertained {and left alone} for a little while.

*Excuse the lack of pants... there is someone trying to learn to use a potty around here.*

**Please note that Rush is fully clothed. That would be because his response to "Would you like to sit on the potty like a big boy?" is "No thank you." At least he is learning to say no politely, though, right?

Cutie Patooties

My Aunt Julia got some cute new outfits for the kids, so this post is for her. SF LOVED her dress!! It looks precious on her! Her favorite part is the belt. Rush was also looking quite handsome wearing his new shirt! And a photo of the twins wouldn't be complete without "White Queen" {aka Lightning McQueen}. He is one of the family after all. And he is "faster than fast."

Chill... that's my fro yo!

We went and walked around in our downtown area, or "town" as SF calls it. {Are we going town, Mama? Are we going town after nap, Mama? Town? Are we going town? We get ice cream tweat in town, Mama?}Just imagine that repeated about 30 more times because I accidentally made the mistake of saying we would go downtown for ice cream after they took their nap today... before they took their nap. :-) She was a little excited. Ice cream is a big treat around here! The weather has also been incredibly beautiful, and we wanted to get out and enjoy it.

So, we broke out the double stroller and went to a new frozen yogurt place that is one of those self-serve deals. {Although I didn't say anything to Phil, I had to move past a few germy features of the self-serve portion of the afternoon, but we all survived... so far.} Anyway, the only two choices for yogurt cups were extra large and freakishly gigantic. There was not a kiddie cup to be found. I have learned many lessons on thinking that my two could share a cup of yogurt with two spoons, so we got them each an extra large cup with a child size portion of vanilla frozen yogurt inside the giant cup. Then, we added sprinkles and mini-MandMs. It was HIT to say the least. They had never really had their own cup of ice cream before. They had really only had it at their birthday parties and then at Kate's birthday party a few weekends ago. So, getting to eat/hold their own cup was kind of a big deal. Unfortunately for Rush, he ate his a little too quickly and could not for the life of him understand why he couldn't also have Frannie's yogurt. He was giving her the stare down as seen in the following photos...

Do you think she looks a little too happy to show him how much she has left in the last picture?

Sweetness

Caught these two snuggling up in the nursery the other night.Yes, SF is the little Mama and always takes care of Wush. I need these sweet times to keep me sane when they are hollering at each in their carseats all the way home. :-)

Today, SF "tattled" on Rush. Once again she was talking to him...nonstop.

Her tattle went like this...
"Mama, Wush tell me SHHHHH."

My response:
"Syd.. I think that means he wants you to stop talking to him for a few minutes."

Her response:
"Why, Mama, Why?"

I just kept driving.
